How to reset Ruckus M2211 Metro Broadband Gateway from Tikona

How to reset Ruckus M2211 Metro Broadband Gateway from Tikona

When to use these steps:

  • when you connect your Ruckus with lan cable, it is not automatically taking the IP address from DHCP.
  • you are not able to login to admin console of ruckus with default id/pass i.e. admin/password

How to Reset:

  1. Change the lan settings from your computer to obtain IP address automatically (To know more click here )
  2. Now connect the lan cable to Ruckus at one end and PC LAN port at other end
  3. Now remove the Power for ruckus and press the black reset button the backside of the ruckus

  4. Keep the reset button pressed and turn the power on for ruckus.
  5. You need to keep the reset button pressed for 1-2 minutes. During this process at first, two lights from the right will glow and then will keep glowing. Then the ruckus will restart again. The lan cable will disconnect and connect 2-3 times during this process. After almost 90 seconds the PC will show the lan as connected and it will take the IP address automatically from DHCP.
  6. Now use the default gateway address from the ipconfig cmd in cmd prompt to open the admin console of the ruckus. usually 192.168.30.1 and id: admin , pass: password
  7. Thats it, you are in.

Flipkart Accessing the Contacts from Mobile

In the recent Flipkart Mobile App update flipkart is taking the permission to access the contacts from the mobile phone. Since we do not have the control of customizing the App permissions we have to give access to our contacts to the app developers if we want to install the app in our mobile.

In the Big App shopping days flipkart is forcing users to use the app by giving the discount on the products only if purchased from the App. This will require the latest version of the App and you may blindly accept the permissions for the app and in turn you may share all your contacts to flipkart.

I feel that this is very wrong way of forcing the users to give what they want.

Many other app developers also do the same things and grab information from users devices and then use that information to generate revenue.

Google has planned to provide the custom app permissions but we may need to wait till android L release for that. Wish google could push this feature for all existing devices also at least from the KitKat version.

Currently Mi devices have the facility to customize the app permissions. So, if you dont want to wait till the android M release, then you can buy a Mi phone and customize the permissions for the App.

So Guys, my advice to you is read the app permissions carefully before installing any app.
